Spectrophotometric Study of New Schiff Base Complexes with Some Metal Ions in Methanol Solution
Authors
Abstract:
The complexation reactions between N,N'-3,6-dioxa-1,8-octanebis (salicylaldimine) [saldioxen(I)] and Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) were studied spectrophotometrically in methanol solution at 25 °C. The stoichiometry of the complexes were obtained as 2:1 and 1:1 sadioxen-metal ion using mole ratio method. The formation constants of the complexes were determined, and found to follow the Irving-Williams, rule for the cations of the first transition series. IR spectroscopy and other evidence indicated that, in 2:1 complexes, the coordination takes place through the azomethin nitrogen atoms only, whereas in 1:1 complexes, metal ion coordinated with ligand through two azomethin groups and the phenolic oxygen atoms.

Spectrophotometric Study of Complex Formations between Alprazolam and Some Transition Metal Ions in Non Aqueous Solution
In this study, the complexation reaction between Alprazolam (ALP) and metal ions (Zn2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Co2+) was investigated by using spectrophotometry in ethanol solvent. The stoichiometry of M+/ALP complexes was calculated by applying the Job, molar ratio and Continuous Changes methods and the relevant diagrams were plotted for each metal ions in each method. The results show that the obtain...

A new unsymmetric thioether diamine N - ( 2 - ( 2 - aminophenylthio) ethyl) benzene - 1 , 2 - diamine was prepared through the nucleophilic substitution of cysteaminium chloride with 1 - chloro - 2 - nitrobenzene and then the nitro groups of prepared compuond converted to the amine by zinc powder and ammonium chloride. Then, unsymmetric Schiff bass ligand 2 - ((( 2 - (( 2 - (( 2 - (( 2 - hydrox...

full textSynthesis and characterization of some transition metal complexes of Schiff base derived from 2,4 - dihydroxybenzaldehyde
Abstract New N2O2 type Schiff base has been designed and synthesized by condensing 2,4 dihydroxy benzaldehyde and α-naphthylamine in ethanol. Solid metal complexes of the schiff base with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal ion were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance, IR, UV-Vis and ‘H NMR spectral studies. The data shows that the c...
